01 / Challenge
For UAE Innovation Month, DP World needed to showcase its role as a global trade enabler through an experience as bold as its ambition. A typical exhibition stand wouldn't do. The brief called for a multi-zone, multi-level structure that demonstrated DP World's impact — physically and digitally — in a way that commanded attention from Royal Family members, senior government officials, and the general public alike.
02 / Idea
The structure was constructed from nine reclaimed shipping containers — DP World's core business, repurposed as architecture. Inside, a three-storey immersive journey would guide visitors through different dimensions of global trade, with PXL+ designing and developing five of the eight core experiences within the structure.
03 / Execution
PXL+ delivered a 360° projection room, an interactive projection wall, a projection-mapped classroom, a custom-built Unity game, and a proximity-activated tribute to Sheikh Zayed — alongside all external screens. Each experience was engineered for reliability under sustained high-traffic conditions and operated seamlessly throughout the activation period.
04 / Results
The Sandbox welcomed members of the UAE Royal Families, senior government officials, and VVIP delegations, alongside more than 7,000 on-site visitors. An additional 25,000 people engaged through the virtual tour. The activation repositioned DP World not as a logistics operator, but as a forward-thinking innovation leader shaping the future of global trade.
