01 / Challenge
Everyone has a voice. Almost nobody uses it. Contacting an elected official is, in theory, simple. In practice, it means navigating a wall of friction: knowing who represents you, finding the right office, tracking down the number, and overcoming the hesitation of making the call. For its activation with Stand With Crypto at the Javits Center, the goal was to collapse that entire chain into a single, seamless physical act—something a convention attendee or passer-by could complete in under a minute, without needing an app, an account, or a cent.
02 / Idea
A New York icon, retrofitted for the crypto movement. The concept takes one of the most culturally familiar fixtures of New York City—the classic street-level phone booth—and retrofits it for the future of digital assets. Built for Stand With Crypto, the activation turned a nostalgic piece of urban infrastructure into a high-impact weapon for grassroots mobilization. The familiarity of the object does all the heavy lifting: a phone booth asks nothing of you except an action you've known how to do your entire life. By simply lifting the vintage receiver, convention-goers bypassed all the usual friction of digital advocacy—no forms, no apps, no friction—instantly connecting them to Capitol Hill to demand clear rules for the crypto economy.
03 / Execution
For the physical activation at the Javits Center, the team retrofitted a classic phone unit with custom-built controllers and intelligent automation. Embedded microcontrollers integrated seamlessly into the vintage hardware, managing the original handset, keypad inputs, and real-time call flow. A robust, high-performance backend handled system logic and state management, paired with enterprise telephony infrastructure to route live calls instantly. Advanced natural language voice synthesis supplied a warm, engaging conversational guide to walk participants effortlessly through the process. Because a single zip code can span multiple congressional districts and every caller has two senators, the retrofitted keypad let participants select their exact target office before dialing. All session data streamed directly into a cloud database, powering a live web dashboard for real-time engagement tracking.

04 / Results
The booth achieved what digital campaigns rarely manage: it stopped people in their tracks. Attendees who had never called an elected official stepped inside, picked up the receiver, and found themselves connected to their representative's office moments later. The entire interaction took roughly a minute and cost nothing. Participants walked away not with a promotional giveaway, but with something far more powerful—the tangible experience of civic participation.
