Your memories live in your mind — invisible, intangible, deeply felt. Memotraits made them visible. Using EEG headsets, we captured the emotional brainwaves of FC Barcelona fans as they relived their greatest Camp Nou moments, and transformed that raw feeling into evolving works of digital art.

01/ Challenge
RAKBank wanted to connect with FC Barcelona fans in the UAE in a way that felt genuinely meaningful — not a giveaway or a stunt, but an experience rooted in something real. The challenge was to find a way to tap into the passion fans already had and give it a form they could hold onto.
02/ Idea
Every fan carries a Camp Nou moment — a goal, a roar, a feeling they've never quite been able to describe. We decided to stop trying to describe it and instead measure it. By reading the emotional brainwaves of fans as they recalled those memories, we could translate feeling into data, and data into art. Something personal. Something unrepeatable. A Memotrait.




03/ Execution
Participants wore EEG headsets and were asked to close their eyes and recall their most vivid FC Barcelona memory. The headsets tracked three emotional states in real time — concentration, excitement, and relaxation. A custom algorithm assigned each state a FC Barcelona brand colour: Blue for concentration, Garnet for excitement, Yellow for relaxation. As the emotional data flowed in, the algorithm translated each data point into a stroke, a pattern, a shade — building a living portrait of the memory as it unfolded. No two Memotraits were ever alike.
04/ Results
Every participant left with a Memotrait — a unique digital artwork generated entirely from their own emotions. The experience turned a sponsorship moment into something deeply personal, giving fans a one-of-a-kind artefact drawn from their own mind in FC Barcelona's colours.
